Leonard

Diane has developed a relationship with an imaginary friend who seems to be, in our best estimation, a life-sized version of our therapy puppet Leonard. Though she is alone in the house, we frequently catch her talking to someone or something by the name of Leonard. The interaction is, for the most part, very genial, but periodically becomes heated, even violent. Diane often blames the aftermath of her IED rages on Leonard. When confronted, it appears that Leonard ignores Diane’s accusations, changing the subject or leaving the room. Leonard’s behavior frustrates Diane, but she always forgives him. She appears to consider Leonard to be her best friend, an appellation that implies the development of trust. For this reason, we have temporarily decided to allow the continuation of this relationship.
