Water

We attribute Diane’s frequent urges to submerge herself in water (see Bathtub Video) to a near-drowning bathtub incident from her childhood. This habitual dunking typically occurs in the bathtub, either preceding or coinciding with an IED rage. In addition to these full-body submersions, Diane satisfies these urges by soaking her hands for long periods of time, and by sleeping near large glasses of water. An association between Diane’s mild water obsession and her fascination with tarot cards has also been identified: of all the minor arcana, Diane seems fondest of the suit of cups. The element, water, is associated with the suit of cups. She frequently laments that her Zodiac sign, Leo, is not a water sign.
